A visit to the Falls of the Ohio River, on the southern border of Indiana, where on June 24, 1778, George Rogers Clark and a group of Revolutionary War militiamen witnessed a partial solar eclipse as they crossed the rapids to set off to launch a surprise attack against the outpost at Kaskaskia and from there to take over the territory that would include the future state of Indiana. Also, an introduction to this podcast and to solar eclipses, and discussion of who else was observing and noticing this prominent solar eclipse during the Revolutionary War.
